Geological Structure and Scientific Significance
The park preserves marine sedimentary layers of the Paleozoic Era, spanning the time interval from the Late Ordovician to the Early Carboniferous. Among them, fossilized remains of ancient animals and plants (corals such as tabulate, rugose, stromatoporoid, as well as brachiopods, crinoids, tentaculites, conodonts, and others) are found in abundance. The age of these layers is 460 million years, which plays a vital role in studying the ancient ecology and climatic conditions of our planet.
