UNESCO Global Geoparks

UNESCO Global Geoparks are territories recognised for geological heritage of international significance, where conservation, education and sustainable development work together. They connect the story of the Earth with local nature, culture and community life. Through geotourism, research and educational activities, they support local livelihoods while protecting their heritage. Community participation is central to their management, and UNESCO status is reviewed every four years to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
